Pork with Shrimp Paste - Binagoongang Baboy

Pork with shrimp paste

This makes my mouth water just by seeing it again at this hour of the night. Just imagining the taste of the shrimp paste is enough to make my hunger go on a nose dive stunt. Anyway, so much for that...
This tasted so good that I am going to make it sometime this month again. Hard to make repeats. This is also good to be partnered with cold rice or hot rice whichever you prefer.

INGREDIENTS:

1 lb lean pork meat (meat with a little fat is good because that's where the flavor is!)
1/2 Cup water
2 Tbsp Shrimp paste
2 Cups cabbage
1 Cup tomato, cubed
1/2 Cup onion, chopped
1/4 Cup garlic, minced
2 Tbsp vegetable oil

DIRECTIONS:

Heat oil in skillet. Add garlic and onion. Once onion is transparent, add tomatoes. Saute for 2 minutes and add pork. Cook until brown on edges. Add shrimp paste. Add water and bring to boil. Add cabbage. Let simmer for 10 minutes. Serve hot.

Enjoy!
