Pork Roast
Pork Roast |
I have so many ideas that would go great with the pork roast, but I decided to cook it as simple as that in the picture because I wanted to learn how to cook it perfectly, not overdone.
I am glad I took the risk and went ahead, with just a rub for ingredients, the outcome was awesome! It was juicy, flavorful and tender.
There is a definite encore of this recipe in the future (when all of it is gone).

Ginataang Langka - Jackfruit in Coconut milk
Ginataang Langka - Jack fruit in Coconut milk |
March is almost over and I barely cooked anything. Working has taken it's toll on me, and I have been abusing my body with all the frozen prepared foods and eating out. I still am not there, but I am pulling my weight to get back on track. I want to get back on cooking all my meals.
Anyway, I wanted to share one of my favorite foods. We call this, ginataang langka (jack fruit), or jack fruit in coconut milk. I can remember my family gathering around the table, with this at the center, and we have our share of vinegar dips (white vinegar with a dash of salt) and plain rice. The fun and mess we made!
If you like coconut milk, an adventurous palate, I am pretty sure you will enjoy this one.

Sloppy sloppy joes
Sloppy sloppy joes |
When I first heard about sloppy joes, and I have seen different variations, I wanted to try it but kept putting it up since I get too tired when I get home. There's the slow cooker version, but I tried this fastest first just to get a glimpse and taste of what it's like.
So here goes my version. I hope you like it as we did.

Low and Slow Baked Pork BBQ Back Ribs
Okra Salad
Okra Salad |
I am going to share with you a recipe that I have grown up eating with. I love the taste of this and how perfect it is to go with dry foods (grilled, fried, you name it).
There are many things that you can do with an okra, and I still have a long way to go in learning the other ways. BUT, this super easy recipe will keep you coming back for more (THAT is if you are fond of something SOUR).
This serves as an appetizer or side dish.

Sweet and Sour Pork
Sweet and Sour Pork |
My, my, it has been a while since I posted anything here. I barely have time to cook any decent meal. If I do, they're usually a repeat of what I already have here. My mind is just too lazy nowadays to even 'think' of what to cook. I am busily adjusting to the "Working Lifestyle".
Okay, so blabber aside. This is another first for me. My first sweet and sour pork. I usually cook fish in this kind of recipe, and this time I had to substitute or remove some ingredients for healthier reasons.

Bell Pepper Pork Mix with Mozzarella and Cheddar Cheese

Bell Pepper Pork Mix |
I actually had no idea what I was doing but decided to do it anyway. The outcome was pretty good. I was able to mix it with salads, rice, lettuce wraps, or just served plainly as it is.
You can even add some cheese if you like dairy to go with your lettuce wraps, they're good. Believe me, I tried.
So here's the recipe for you!

Hot & Spicy Pork Sausage
Hot & Spicy Pork Sausage Crunch |
Today, I decided to cook in advance for my meals for the week. Since I am now working, I barely have time to prepare for meals after I get home, so hence, this preparation. Besides, eating from the cafeteria everyday is expensive.
I also decided that I have to get back in my 'healthy' regimen. Ever since I got working, I have been eating a lot of junk or food that has it. Getting back on track here.

Chocolate Chip & Oatmeal Quick Bread
Chocolate Chip & Oatmeal Quick Bread |
This recipe was a gift to my sister, who by the way, doesn't like to be around the kitchen most of the time. So this recipe, together with the homemade packed ingredient was just sitting there waiting to be given some attention it so much deserved.
I am not a fan of breads or anything sweet, really. That's why my attention wasn't "CAPTURED" right away on this one. Since it's new year, I decided to give it a go, just so I can clear up the counter.
It turned out to be really good, and it's nothing too sweet. It's perfect for your morning coffee, or just something to nibble on for snacks. It's easy to make, and I am pretty sure your kids will love it, too.

Cheesy Pepperoni Pizza Dip
Cheesy Pepperoni Pizza Dip |
Happy New Year! 2012 finally belongs in the past, and all the lessons learned shall be carried on. I learned a lot about the healthy stuff, the foods to avoid, the foods to eat, the foods that boosts, and all that.
I have lost a considerable amount of weight and I thank all the fellow bloggers in the blogosphere who took the time and patience to share all their food wealth for people like me.
