A Healthier, Happier Me

Almost three weeks since my self-proclaimed lifestyle change, I am starting to see changes in my body; AND I like what I am seeing. I have never felt this kind of drive and satisfaction ever.

You can just imagine my every way possible to get myself to lose weight. I have tried exercising, dieting, weight loss pills, you name it I almost certainly have tried it.

With this lifestyle change that I am doing, the results are fast and my hunger and cravings are more often than not, non-existent. Who wouldn't want that? Of course I am not talking about not having any miss and hit moments. There are. You cannot eat perfectly on a day-to-day basis, but YOU certainly can keep it under control.

I am into low calorie counting and at the same time low carbohydrate eating. Since I cook my own food, I can control and decide what to cook that I can eat without feeling guilty.

By choice, I eat mostly chicken, vegetables, almost no-fry policy, and just a LITTLE amount of carbs since you cannot really eliminate it. You need it for energy.

Since I did what I started doing, this so called lifestyle change, I can feel that I AM HAPPY. I feel Healthy. And this is not because of other people, but because of me. A choice I decided to choose and a path I decided to take.

Fried Rice Overload

Fried Rice Overload

Another one of those days when we had too much cold rice left-overs that I don't really want to end up throwing just because my sister doesn't want to do anything about it anymore. Come on! I don't want to eat rice anymore (but I love it, really!). Besides, I can't resist another opportunity to cook.

Low Carb Chicken Meatballs with Broccoli

Chicken Meatballs with Broccoli
Okay, never mind the smoothie on the plate. That makes everything else definitely NOT a low carb thing. BUT since I made it that day, I just added that to the plate so it won't look too lonely. Anyway,

Lifestyle Change

Credits

I just saw this picture in FB today and it totally fits what I am doing with my life currently. I was surprised to learn that by learning to choose which foods to eat but not letting yourself starve is possible and doable.

I am one week and one day into this Changing My Lifestyle moment that after seeing the result of the first week, I am much more determined to continue this.

More power to me.

The Low Carb Challenge

Credits: Randy Glasbergen

Okay, I have decided to REALLY stick to the plan this time. I am going on a diet. Or shall I say the alternative lifestyle.

I am trying my hardest to adjust to this. I love to cook and I love to eat. Now,  I have to learn what to cook the healthier way. I have tried the low calorie path, and busily counting calories away. Only to suffer being lightheaded, pale and binge eating. That is because I always feel so hungry. So I explored other options to resolve the issue.

I have seen other bloggers that I follow (who cooks!) cooks these amazing recipes in realistic portions and lose weight. So what am I doing wrong here? They are counting the carbs instead of the calories. That's the what.

I am on my 4th day today and I am still doing well. I can feel hunger pangs but they are manageable. I don't have cravings on sweets but I do feel hungry. Oh boy.

I just need people around me to support me in this venture because I really want to take care of myself. By taking care of myself, I am also taking care of them, since what I eat, I serve it to them as well.

From time to time I will post my progress here to keep track of myself and keep me in check. I have not completed an entire week and I feel lighter already. I try not to hurry. I will do this one day at a time. After all, Rome wasn't built in a day.

Keeping my fingers crossed. God Bless me.

Cooking Journey

I think I have lost sight of what I really want in this blog. I don't want it to become just like everyone else blog, but rather, a blog of my cooking journey.

I really love to cook, and I know I still have a lot to learn. Basically, what I do is look for recipes to try and share them with you. I think I just need to get that straight. Nothing else.

The Real Challenge here lies to staying 'fit' because I am so far from that. Even if I wanted to eat as much as I could with what I made, I have to do something about controlling my food intake. I just can't have a carbo overload every time. When that happens, I have to run for a mile. I think.
